Your New Company/Role:

As one of the established and renowned industries, my client is looking for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join their team based in Lower North Shore of Sydney and collections is a huge part of the role. This is a permanent full time opportunity. The company offers sponsorship so those on work holiday visa - please do apply if you are keen and done a similar role.


About the Opportunity / Responsibilities:

This role is to ensure timely collection of payments, enhance cash flow, maintain accurate financial records and foster positive relationships with customers.

Reporting directly to a supportive and nurturing Accounts Receivable Manager:

  • Collect Fees and Deposits from required parties by preparing and processing weekly EFT files
  • Manage Direct Debit declines and the Collection of these fees across different locations
  • Ensure system accurately reflects the collections and manual payments
  • Monitoring and collection of debt within agreed timelines
  • Process Credit or refunds
  • Contact all dishonored weekly fee accounts and ensure outstanding debts are brought to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Follow up on all outstanding debt and declined amounts, ensuring payments are received prior to next weekly billing cycle
  • Address and resolve any Billing inquiries assigned by investigating and resolving matters in alignment with guidelines and policies
  • Credit card charges are to be processed and reconciled on a daily basis
  • Manual charges will need to be actioned upon based on request
  • Ad-hoc administration tasks as required


Ideal Profile

To contribute their valuable knowledge and experience within the Accounting function:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 2 years (or equivalent) demonstrated related experience in similar position
  • Experience in education industry environment is highly desirable
  • Experience in large Accounting ERP systems
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain ongoing effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Junior candidates are welcomed to apply but must have good exposure to AR - collections experience
